Today (14th April 2017) I was on the radio documentary ‘Do Pass Go’ on BBC Radio 4, talking about board-games. I praised a particular 1980s board-game called Elefantenparade, which I love as an example of all the things that made German games so exciting in the 1980s.
I want to make it clear that I was talking about the game Elefantenparade, designed by Henri Sala and published by Ravensburger in 1988, and not the game Elefantenparade, designed by Peter J. Mitchell and Robert W. Mitchell and published by Ravensburger in 2003. The two have the same name and are from the same publisher, but one is a charming tactical race-game and the other is an unremarkable dice-based thing for small children, and Ravensburger deserve a slap for the confusion.
This is the good one. Available on eBay or any time you come round to my place.
